Everton "confident" of Yacine Brahimi deal

Everton are thought to be "confident" of securing a deal for £35m-rated Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.

Everton are thought to be "confident" of closing a deal for Porto winger Yacine Brahimi before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.

The Toffees reportedly had an opening bid of £25.5m for the 26-year-old turned down by the Primeira Liga side earlier this month but are readying a new, improved offer.

Porto have set a minimum asking price of £35m as they are due to pay half of any transfer fee to a third party, which has co-ownership of the Algeria international.

According to The Mirror, Ronald Koeman's side believe that a compromise is close to being reached after the player signalled his desire to make the move happen.

If he joins, Brahimi will become Koeman's fifth signing as Everton boss, following on from the arrivals of Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie.
