Chile and Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez will reportedly miss Chile's four group games in the Copa America, after picking up a foot injury in training.

Chile forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to miss his national side's group stage matches in the Copa America due to a foot injury sustained in training.

The 32-year-old is Chile's all-time top appearance-maker with 138, and goalscorer with 46, since making his senior debut in 2006, but has only featured for the national side six times in the last two calendar years due to injury.

Martin Lasarte's side are in Group B for this year's Copa America, and they will face Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay after their opening fixture against Argentina on Monday.

The Daily Mail reports that Sanchez faces a race against time to be fit for the knockout stages of the tournament, should his teammates get Chile that far, with the quarter-finals taking place from July 3.

Sanchez comes into this tournament on a high after helping his club, Inter Milan, win their first Serie A title in 11 years, with the Chilean forward scoring seven goals in 30 league appearances.

Chile will be hoping to replicate performances from 2015 and 2016 when they won this tournament for the first and second time.
