Chelsea reportedly hit a roadblock in contract talks with Andreas Christensen due to the Danish defender switching agents.

Chelsea have reportedly hit a roadblock in their attempts to tie Andreas Christensen down to a new deal.

The Denmark international has entered the final six months of his existing contract and is free to begin discussions with foreign clubs should he wish.

Barcelona are rumoured to be closing in on an agreement with Christensen, although Chelsea are still hopeful of keeping the 25-year-old on the books beyond the summer.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that renewal talks with the Blues will now need to start from scratch after the centre-back changed agents.

The report also adds that Christensen could be tempted by the prospect of a return to Barcelona, while uncertainty also lingers over Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta's situations.

Christensen has made 18 appearances in all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign for Chelsea, who have tied down Thiago Silva until the end of the 2022-23 season.
