Team News: Olivier Giroud on bench for Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte names January signing Olivier Giroud on the bench for the Premier League fixture at Watford.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has named January signing Olivier Giroud on the bench for the Premier League fixture at Watford.

Conte has suggested that he is not in a rush to include the forward in his starting lineup after a spell out through injury, but the former Arsenal man could make an appearance as a substitute against the Hornets.

Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard make up the front three with Ross Barkley out injured, while Davide Zappacosta replaces Marcos Alonso at left wing-back with Emerson Palmieri having to also make do with a place among the replacements.

David Luiz also makes a rare league start after Andreas Christensen was ruled out with a hamstring problem.

As for Watford, Javi Gracia has made two changes to his starting lineup, with Daryl Janmaat and Marvin Zeegelaar both coming in to play at wing-back.

Christian Kabasele and Tom Cleverley are both suffering with hamstring injuries and miss out on a place in the squad.

January signings Didier Ndong and Dodi Lukebakio take spots as substitutes.

Watford: Karnezis; Mariappa, Prodl, Holebas; Janmaat, Doucoure, Capoue, Zeegelaar; Deulofeu, Deeney, Richarlison
Subs: Bachmann, Mukena, Ndong, Pereyra, Lukebakio, Carrillo, Gray

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Zappacosta; Willian, Hazard, Pedro
Subs: Caballero, Rudiger, Emerson, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Hudson-Odoi, Giroud
