Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois misses out through injury as the Blues face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out of the game with Brighton & Hove Albion through injury, leading to a first Premier League start of the season for Willy Caballero.

Courtois - as well as Danny Drinkwater - sustained a knock during training, and it has led to the pair both missing out on the trip to the Seagulls.

Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi both start with Pedro and Alvaro Morata absent through suspension, while Ross Barkley is included in Antonio Conte's squad for the first time since his move from Everton.

Ethan Ampadu, Dujon Sterling and Charly Musonda also appear among the replacements, with Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas unavailable through injury.

As for Brighton, Chris Hughton has decided to make five alterations from the team which began the 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Connor Goldson has been given a start in defence, while Ezequiel Schelotto, Markus Suttner, Solly March and Tomer Hemed are included further forward.

Bruno, Gaetan Bong, Anthony Knockaert, Jose Izquierdo and Glenn Murray are the players to make way as Brighton look for a result which would take them away from the relegation zone.

Brighton & Hove Albion: Ryan; Schelotto, Duffy, Goldson, Dunk, Suttner; Propper, Stephens, March; Gross; Hemed
Subs: Krul, Huenemeier, Rosenior, Kayal, Izquierdo, Murray, Baldock

Chelsea: Caballero; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Hazard
Subs: Eduardo, David Luiz, Zappacosta, Ampadu, Sterling, Barkley, Musonda
