Report: Chelsea close to agreement with Luis Enrique

Chelsea reportedly beat Paris Saint-Germain to the capture of Luis Enrique, who is said to be close to an agreement with the Blues to succeed Antonio Conte.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of talks with Luis Enrique as the out-of-work manager is close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea.

The Blues are expected to part company with Antonio Conte in the summer following an underwhelming second campaign at Stamford Bridge for the Italian.

Enrique has emerged as the rumoured frontrunner to succeed Conte ahead of next season and, according to French outlet Le Parisien, they are close to landing their number one target.

That spells bad news for PSG, who were themselves understood to have seen the ex-Roma and Barcelona boss as an ideal successor to Unai Emery.

The same report indicates that both teams also have identical back-up options, with Carlo Ancelotti - manager of PSG and Chelsea in the past - and Napoli's Maurizio Sarri highly thought of.
