Celta Vigo held to goalless draw by Granada

Celta Vigo and Granada play out a goalless draw at Balaidos to see the Celts slip out of the top six in La Liga.

Celta Vigo have slipped out of the top six in La Liga having played out a goalless draw against Granada at Balaidos this evening.

The hosts, who pulled off a huge shock in defeating Barcelona at the Camp Nou last time out, had the ball in the net early on through Sergio Gomez only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

The 22-year-old almost found a way through once more on the 34-minute mark, but his header was well kept out after he peeled away from his marker.

Joaquin Larrivey and Fabian Orellana squandered decent openings for the Celts in the second half, but they could not find a way through.

Granada's Ruben Rochina had a couple of chances of his own to earn his side their first win in six, although a mixture of poor finishing and good goalkeeping saw him denied as the game finished in a stalemate.
