Bologna recovery continues in Cagliari

Bologna score three times without reply for their first away win of the season at Cagliari, with Panagiotis Kone among the goals for Stefano Pioli's side.

Bologna have recorded back-to-back victories with a 3-0 success over 10-man Cagliari in Trieste, allowing Stefano Pioli's side to climb out of the relegation zone.

Pioli was without without Alessandro Diamanti through suspension and started the match confined to their own half, but punished poor goalkeeping to take the lead after 26 minutes.

Cagliari stopper Michael Agazzi was at fault for the opener, parrying into the path of Gyorgy Garics, who made no mistake from close range on the rebound.

Early in the second half Cagliari's chances of responding were dealt a major blow as Nicola Murru received his marching orders, picking up a second yellow card for tripping Diego Perez.

Soon after the visitors doubled their advantage through Panagiotis Kone, as he collected Michele Pazienza's pass before measuring into the far corner.

Pazienza added his name to the scoresheet three minutes later, with Kone turning provider as his free kick was planted home by a firm header.

Jonathan Cristaldo wasted a pair of late chances to add gloss the scoreline but it mattered little, as Bologna closed out their first away victory of the campaign.
