Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Brentford could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank will hope his depleted attacking unit can still secure victory against Newcastle United on Wednesday.

Summer signing Fabio Carvalho is not available due to injury, and he joins Gustavo Gomes, Igor Thiago and Joshua Dasilva on the sidelines.

Frank will at least be able to call upon talismanic duo Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, with Wissa likely to lead the line while Mbeumo could be chosen on the right side of attack.

Mikkel Damsgaard is a probable candidate to feature in an attacking midfield role, while Kevin Schade may be stationed on the left.

Frank has often utilised a double pivot, and perhaps regulars Christian Norgaard and Vitaly Janelt could appear together in the middle of the pitch.

In defence, the Bees will be without full-backs Aaron Hickey and Michael Kayode, and their absences may lead to Kristoffer Ajer and Keane Lewis-Potter being used out wide instead.

Centre-back Nathan Collins has performed excellently in the heart of Brentford's backline, and he may be partnered by Ethan Pinnock.

Brentford possible starting lineup: Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa
