Alan Judge breaks leg, out of Euro 2016

A broken leg rules Brentford and Republic of Ireland midfielder Alan Judge of this summer's European Championships in France.

Brentford midfielder Alan Judge has been ruled out of Euro 2016 with a broken leg.

The Republic of Ireland international suffered the injury during yesterday afternoon's 3-1 win away at Ipswich Town.

"During today's Sky Bet Championship game against Ipswich Town, Alan Judge sustained a fracture injury to his lower leg," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The injury was assessed and immobilised locally and Alan has now been transferred to a London hospital where he will be managed by the leading lower limb consultant in the country.

"The nature of his management and long-term prognosis cannot be speculated on at this time, however it should be stated that a full recovery is not in question."

Judge, 27, has been capped once by Ireland at senior international level.
