Bournemouth complete the signing of Hamed Traore on a permanent deal from Italian side Sassuolo.

Bournemouth have signed Hamed Traore on a permanent deal from Serie A side Sassuolo.

The Ivory Coast international joined the Cherries in January on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.

Traore has gone on to make seven appearances for Bournemouth and conditions within his loan agreement have now been met, triggering a permanent transfer.

Bournemouth will reportedly pay a fee in the region of £20m for Traore, who has put pen to paper on a five-year deal until the summer of 2028.

Commenting on the transfer, Traore told the club's official website: "Everyone has been really welcoming with me. Everything is good here and I'm just happy to be here.

"I've had a couple of injuries so I'm looking forward to next season, but right now I'm working hard and hope to come back before the end and help the team."

Bournemouth chief executive Neil Blake also expressed his delight in signing the 23-year-old on a permanent deal.

Blake added: "We've been really impressed by Hamed since his arrival in January, and we're delighted to have him with us for the long term.

"He's shown he's already capable of performing well at the top level, and we're excited to see him develop even further."

Traore has missed Bournemouth's last seven Premier League games, but he could return to the matchday squad this weekend.

The transfer ends Traore's association with Sassuolo, where he registered 18 goals and 11 assists in 111 appearances.

The Cherries have already guaranteed their Premier League survival after picking up 39 points from their 36 matches.

Bournemouth are currently preparing for Saturday's home meeting with Manchester United before they wrap up their campaign with an away fixture against Everton.
