Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich reportedly offer talisman Robert Lewandowski a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in June 2023.

Bayern Munich have reportedly offered talisman Robert Lewandowski a new contract.

The 33-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his current deal at the Allianz Arena and has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League.

One previous report claimed that Bayern were lining up a two-year deal for Lewandowski, which would see the Poland international take a wage cut, but if he were to reject the offer then they would look to sell him in the summer.

Sky Sports News journalist Florian Plettenberg, reporting from Germany, has since revealed that Bayern have made an official contract offer to Lewandowski, but should he turn down their proposals, then a move to sign Erling Braut Haaland in the summer cannot be ruled out.

"It's important to know that the bosses from Bayern Munich have made it official that they want to extend with Robert Lewandoswki," Plettenberg said.

"It's the question of a new long-term contract. His agent is waiting for a call from Bayern, but it has been confirmed today in an interview with Sky Sports. So everything is under way for a new contract, now they have to talk.

"I don't think Erling Haaland will move to Bayern Munich because he is much too expensive. That's not a question right now.

"Now they have to wait for the 'yes' from Lewandowski. But if he says no, Haaland could be a real option for Bayern."

Lewandowski has scored 328 goals in 357 appearances for Bayern since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in July 2014.
