Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo to miss Champions League tie with Barcelona?

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is in danger of missing out on his side's Champions League tie with Barcelona - and a reunion with Lionel Messi - due to coronavirus.

Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo is in danger of missing his side's Champions League showdown with Barcelona later this month due to coronavirus.

The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed on Tuesday that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now undergoing self-isolation.

The Mirror reports that, despite showing no symptoms, Ronaldo will now have to isolate for at least two weeks.

The Champions League clash with Barcelona in Turin, including a much-anticipated reunion between Ronaldo and his perennial rival Lionel Messi, is due to take place on October 28 - two weeks and one day after Ronaldo's positive diagnosis.

The 35-year-old is already guaranteed to miss matches against Crotone, Dynamo Kiev and Hellas Verona due to the isolation rules, and he needs to have been free of the virus for at least one week before being allowed to play again - putting his participation against Barcelona in doubt.

Ronaldo has started the season in typically prolific form, scoring three goals in two games for the Serie A champions.
