Saturday's Major League Soccer predictions including Salt Lake vs. Los Angeles

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Major League Soccer fixtures, including Real Salt Lake vs. Los Angeles FC.

Atlanta vs. Seattle (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Eastern Conference outfit Atlanta United will welcome Western Conference side Seattle Sounders to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for their MLS encounter on Saturday.

The Five Stripes have picked up seven points from a possible 12 available in their last four home matches, while the Sounders are seeking to avoid a fourth successive away defeat.

We say: Atlanta United 1-1 Seattle Sounders

Although both sides will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend as they continue to push for at least a top-seven finish, a tight affair could be on the cards here.

Three of the four MLS meetings between Atlanta and Seattle have ended as a draw and with little to separate these two teams, they may be forced to share the spoils again at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Charlotte FC vs. Chicago Fire (Sunday, 12.00am)

Seeking a third consecutive home win across all competitions, Charlotte FC square off against Chicago Fire at the Bank of America Stadium on Saturday.

The Fire head into the weekend on a run of three wins and one draw from their last four games in the MLS and will look to maintain this solid run of results.

We say: Charlotte FC 1-1 Chicago Fire

With just two points and three places separating Charlotte and Chicago Fire in the standings, we expect a thrilling and action-packed contest. Both sides head into the weekend in solid form and we predict the spoils will be shared in this one.

Cincinnati vs. Philadelphia (Sunday, 12.30am)

FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vazquez (19) celebrates with teammates after scoring a goal against CF Montreal in the first half at TQL Stadium on April 2, 2022© Reuters

FC Cincinnati are fighting an uphill battle to try to end their seven-game winless run in MLS as they welcome Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Union to the TQL Stadium on Saturday.

Pat Noonan's side played out an enthralling 4-4 draw with Inter Miami last time out, while the visitors humiliated the Houston Dynamo 6-0.

We say: FC Cincinnati 1-3 Philadelphia Union

Cincinnati fans are sick of the sight of stalemates now, but most would most likely accept a draw versus the Eastern Conference leaders, whose penchant for goals should become apparent here.

Carving their way through a leaky Orange and Blue backline should be an easy ask for the Union, who also have the defensive nous to end the hosts' unbeaten run at the TQL Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Columbus Crew vs. NY City (Sunday, 12.30am)

New York City FC will attempt to extend their seven-game unbeaten streak when they face Columbus Crew in the MLS on Saturday.

The hosts, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from a midweek defeat to CF Montreal, which ended a run of nine matches without defeat.

We say: Columbus Crew 2-2 New York City FC

New York City have proven to be a tough team to beat this season, and although Columbus usually fare well at home against Saturday's opponents, we think the hosts will have to settle for a draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Montreal vs. Inter Miami (Sunday, 12.30am)

CF Montreal will look to extend their unbeaten run to five matches when they play host to Inter Miami in the MLS on Saturday.

The hosts currently sit in third position in the Eastern Conference, while Phil Neville's side occupy eighth place ahead of the weekend's action.

We say: CF Montreal 2-0 Inter Miami

In their two previous home games against Saturday's opponents, Montreal have emerged victorious, and we think they will collect another win on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Orlando City vs. New England (Sunday, 12.30am)

Looking to end their six-game winless run in the MLS and move into the playoffs places, New England Revolution visit the Exploria Stadium to face Orlando City on Saturday.

The Lions will head into the weekend aiming to get one over the visitors, having failed to win any of the last six meetings between the sides since June 2019.

We say: Orlando City 2-1 New England Revolution

Orlando City and New England Revolution head into the weekend in need of a pick-me-up after struggling for results in recent weeks. The Revs have managed just two wins in their last 11 away games in the league and we are backing Orlando City to make use of their home advantage and claim a slender victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Kansas vs. LA Galaxy (Sunday, 1.30am)

LA Galaxy forward Javier Hernandez (14) celebrates after scoring a goal against the Portland Timbers during the first half at Providence Park on April 3, 2022© Reuters

Sporting Kansas City take on Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS Western Conference on Saturday.

Both sides find themselves outside of the play-off positions, with the hosts rock-bottom heading into the weekend's encounter.

We say: Sporting Kansas City 1-1 Los Angeles Galaxy

We can envisage a share of the spoils between two sides struggling for form in recent weeks.

The visitors undoubtedly have more individual quality, but home advantage and a determination to end their losing run should help Kansas avoid defat.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Austin vs. Earthquakes (Sunday, 2.00am)

Austin FC forward Maximiliano Urruti (37) celebrates with teammates after scoring a goal against the San Jose Earthquakes during the first half at PayPal Park on April 2, 2022© Reuters

San Jose Earthquakes will be aiming to snap their five-game winless run across all competitions when they take a trip to the Q2 Stadium to face Austin FC on Saturday.

Josh Wolff's men will head into the weekend looking to get one over the Goonies, having failed to win any of the last four meetings between the teams.

We say: Austin FC 3-1 San Jose Earthquakes

While San Jose Earthquakes will be looking to end their winless run, next up is the stern test of facing an opposing side who are unbeaten in eight of their last nine games. We are backing Wolff's side to build on Sunday's win over the Wizards and claim all three points this weekend.

Colorado vs. Minnesota Utd (Sunday, 2.00am)

Fresh off the back of a thrilling 5-4 victory over New York Red Bulls, Colorado Rapids play host to Minnesota United at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

Adrian Heath's men head into the weekend on a run of three consecutive victories away from home and will look to keep the juggernaut rolling.

We say: Colorado Rapids 1-2 Minnesota United

Minnesota United head into the weekend as one of the most in-for sides in the Western Conference, claiming six wins and two draws from their last eight games. The Loons have enjoyed the better of this fixture and we are backing them to extend their dominance over the Rapids.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Salt Lake vs. Los Angeles (Sunday, 3.00am)

Gareth Bale in action for Los Angeles FC on July 29, 2022© Reuters

Real Salt Lake host Los Angeles FC in the MLS Western Conference on Saturday.

The visitors top the table after an excellent season so far, with Salt Lake three points clear inside the play-off positions.

We say: Real Salt Lake 1-2 Los Angeles FC

We expect the visitors to continue their winning run, with Bale potentially making a decisive impact from the bench.

Salt Lake have not been in a good run of form lately and may find the pressure of potentially falling outside of the play-off spots a little much to bare.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Portland vs. Dallas (Sunday, 3.30am)

Portland Timbers head coach Giovanni Savarese before a game against Los Angeles Galaxy at Providence Park on April 4, 2022© Reuters

The Portland Timbers will aim to stretch their unbeaten MLS run to 10 matches when they play host to Dallas at Providence Park on Saturday.

Giovanni Savarese's men played out a 1-1 draw at home to Nashville in midweek, while the visitors fell to a 1-0 loss against the Seattle Sounders.

We say: Portland Timbers 1-1 Dallas

Neither manager will boast a squad devoid of fatigue or jellied legs following their midweek exploits, but an expected return of Ferreira to the first XI for Dallas spells optimism for the inconsistent visitors.

Defeat at home has been a rarity for Portland over the past few weeks, though, and we would not be surprised to see this one end level either.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
