Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey reportedly favours a move to Arsenal over Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates following an impressive campaign with Diego Simeone's side.

Indeed, the Ghana international has chalked up 35 appearances across all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign, and Partey currently has a £43.5m release clause in his Atletico contract.

According to GHANAsoccernet.com, PSG intend to use their financial firepower to try to secure a deal for the midfielder, but Partey has his eye on a move to Arsenal.

The report claims that the Ghanaian dreams of following in the footsteps of former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien, who forged a successful career at the Blues between 2005 and 2014.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic will affect the upcoming transfer window, although Partey's cut-price figure is likely to make him a viable target for a number of sides.

The midfielder's current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano will expire in 2023.
