Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful of welcoming "some new faces" to the squad within the next couple of weeks.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has affirmed that he is excited to welcome "some new faces" to the club ahead of their pre-season trip to the USA.

The Gunners' only arrival of the summer transfer window so far has been Nuno Tavares, who took just 23 minutes to get off the mark for his new club in Saturday's pre-season draw with Rangers.

Deals for Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White are also expected to be wrapped up this month, and Arteta has teased some more incomings as Arsenal prepare to travel to the States for the Florida Cup.

"We didn't have any injuries which is really positive in the first week. We're going to have some new faces arriving probably, so very positive," Arteta told Arsenal Media after Saturday's game.

Tavares equalised for the Gunners at Ibrox after Leon Balogun put Rangers ahead, and Eddie Nketiah had to come off the bench to rescue a 2-2 draw after Cedric Itten had restored Rangers' lead.

As far as the club's outgoings are concerned, Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba have both been shipped out to Marseille on loan, while Granit Xhaka is reportedly pushing to complete his move to Roma.
