Harry Burgoyne signs new Wolverhampton Wanderers deal

Young goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne signs a new deal keeping him at Wolverhampton Wanderers until 2020.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that young goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has signed a new deal keeping him at the club until 2020.

The 21-year-old made his debut for the Midlands side in late 2016 and was between the sticks for Wolves' memorable win over Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup in January 2017.

Burgoyne - currently third-choice stopper behind John Ruddy and Will Norris at Molineux - has yet to feature under Nuno Espirito Santo but has been earmarked as a potential regular in the first team in future.

"It feels really good to extend my time with the club," Burgoyne told the club's website. "Wolves is on a massive high at the moment and they've got big expectations in the future so it's great to be a part of that.

"There's been highs and lows over the last 18 months but it's good that I've got that first-team experience behind me and it's great to see the lads doing really well this season."

Wolves' sporting director Kevin Thelwell added: "Harry has been with us for a long time and continues to make excellent progress. Last season in particular he demonstrated how good he can be and despite limited opportunities this season his potential remains high.

"We hope that this new contract demonstrates our confidence in him and gives him the time and space to develop into a first team starting goalkeeper at Wolves."

Burgoyne has been at Wolves since the age of 11.
