West Ham United have confirmed that Jarrod Bowen has "suffered no significant damage" after sustaining an injury to his right heel in their 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.

The 25-year-old picked up the problem just after half time, and despite attempting to play through the pain, he was eventually withdrawn in the 53rd minute.

The Hammers have since provided a reassuring update for supporters, confirming on their official website that Bowen's injury is not as serious as first feared.

A statement read: "West Ham United can confirm a scan has shown that Jarrod Bowen suffered no significant damage following the injury he picked up at Liverpool on Saturday evening."

Head of Medical Richard Collinge added: "Jarrod underwent an MRI scan in London on Sunday morning and thankfully no significant injury has occurred. He will continue to be monitored by the medical team and will undergo further examination in the coming days."

It remains to be seen whether Bowen will be fit to feature on Thursday when West Ham travel to Spain to face Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

Bowen has been in scintillating form the Hammers this season, scoring 12 goals and registering 11 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
