Jonas Olsson expresses Pepe Mel support after first win under West Brom coach

Jonas Olsson gives his backing to West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel following the Baggies' first victory under the Spaniard.

West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson believes that head coach Pepe Mel has had an undeserved "tough" time in recent weeks.

Rumours emerged suggesting that the Spaniard could get sacked after not winning a single one of his seven matches in charge.

However, there is now a different outlook at The Hawthorns after the team came from behind to beat Swansea City 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

"It is easy to kick someone when they are down," the Daily Mail quotes Olsson as saying. "It has been tough for him so I am very happy for the gaffer and the coaching staff.

"The last couple of weeks have been very difficult so it is nice when you feel that everyone, the coaching staff and players, have done really well."

West Brom are now three points above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
