Gary Neville: 'We didn't deserve to lose'

Valencia boss Gary Neville insists that his side did not deserve to lose their La Liga fixture against Real Betis on Sunday afternoon.

Valencia manager Gary Neville has said that he is "aware of the consequences" after his team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Real Betis.

The setback sees Neville's winless run in La Liga extended to nine games, but despite coming under pressure at the Mestalla, the Englishman has insisted that his team did not deserve to fall victim to Ruben Castro's second-half goal.

The 40-year-old told reporters: "I don't think that we deserved to lose the game today but things aren't going our way in both boxes. We made one mistake and it goes in, and at the other end of the pitch, we have two or three moments and they don't go in.

"Our last two performances have not deserved defeats, but the reality is that we have had two defeats and I am aware of the consequences and know that it is the result that matters. There is a fine line between victory and defeat."

The defeat has resulted in Valencia dropping to 13th place in the standings.
