Tottenham Hotspur attacker Bryan Gil is called into the Spain squad for their UEFA Nations League Finals matches.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Bryan Gil has been confirmed as Marcos Llorente's replacement in Spain's squad for their UEFA Nations League Finals matches.

The 20-year-old was left out of the initial selection, but Llorente's injury, which he picked up during Atletico Madrid's La Liga clash with Barcelona on Saturday, has opened the door for the youngster.

"Bryan Gil is the latest in Luis Enrique's call-up for the Nations League final phase, after the Madrid footballer [Llorente] was injured in the last play of the match between Atletico de Madrid and FC Barcelona," an official statement from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) read.

"Bryan Gil, who had been summoned by Luis De la Fuente for the U21 team, will join the team in Las Rozas tomorrow to prepare for the semi-final on Wednesday 6 against Italy at San Siro."

Gil joined Tottenham from Sevilla over the summer and has made nine appearances for the North London club during the 2021-22 campaign, contributing one assist in the process.

The attacker received his first call up to the senior Spain squad in March and has turned out for La Roja on three occasions against Greece, Georgia and Lithuania.
