Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lewis Holtby says that the team have gained confidence from having the likes of Gareth Bale back from injury.

Lewis Holtby has revealed that the Tottenham Hotspur squad have received a "massive boost" by the return from injury of some key players.

Both Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe recovered from recent knocks to score during yesterday's 3-1 win over Manchester City at White Hart Lane, while winger Aaron Lennon is also thought to be close to full fitness.

The win over City has enhanced Tottenham's chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League and with that in mind, midfielder Holtby has insisted that the confidence among the players is high ahead of the final few fixtures.

"We have got players back like Gareth and Jermain, who both scored, so the belief in the team is high," the London Evening Standard quotes Holtby as saying. "It was a massive boost and it will put some pressure on Chelsea.

"After a win like that I think the confidence is really going up and with Aaron Lennon coming back, too, I hope this week we are going to be even stronger.

"I have just mentioned three guys who are among the top players in the Premier League. They have just come back for us so that is a massive boost. We have to keep the momentum up."

Spurs are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Wigan Athletic.
