Cardiff City sack head coach Paul Trollope

Cardiff City sack head coach Paul Trollope after winning just two of their 11 Championship games this season.

Cardiff City have announced the sacking of head coach Paul Trollope with immediate effect.

The 44-year-old, who took over in the summer, leaves the Welsh outfit after guiding the team to just two victories in 11 Championship games this season.

Wins over Blackburn Rovers and Rotherham United were the positives in an otherwise poor start to the campaign, which has included two draws and seven defeats.

A statement on Cardiff's official website read: "We'd like to thank Paul for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future. An announcement regarding Paul's successor will be made in due course."

Assistant coach Lennie Lawrence and performance director Ryland Morgans have also left the club, which sits second from bottom in the league table.
