QPR caretaker manager Mark Bowen hopes to remain at Loftus Road and urges the club's fans not to give up hope of avoiding relegation.

Queens Park Rangers caretaker manager Mark Bowen has urged the club's fans not to give up hope of avoiding relegation.

Bowen took charge of QPR as they lost 3-1 at Manchester United earlier today.

The result leaves the rock-bottom Hoops five points adrift of safety in the Premier League table and without a top-flight win all season.

"I would tell the fans: 'Don't lose faith'," said Bowen. "The quality is there but everything is conspiring against us at the moment.

"It's individual errors which are costing us rather than team errors."

Reports have claimed that Bowen, who was Mark Hughes's assistant prior to the Welshman's sacking, will leave Loftus Road in the near future when new boss Harry Redknapp brings in familiar coaches Joe Jordan and Kevin Bond.

However, Bowen hopes to remain at the club.

He added: "I really don't know. It is a good club and a good club to work for.

"At the moment no-one has said anything to me, but I'm still employed by the club.

"I played under Harry earlier in my younger days, but he will have his own ideas."

Redknapp's first official game in charge of QPR will come on Tuesday night when his side visit Sunderland.
