Peter Reid "delighted" to be involved in Indian Super League

Former Sunderland and Leeds United boss Peter Reid says that he is "really looking forward" to managing Mumbai City FC in the inaugural Indian Super League.

Peter Reid has said that he is "delighted" that he will be managing Mumbai City in the inaugural Indian Super League.

The former England international was announced as the side's new boss earlier this month, and Reid has said that he is "really looking forward" to the new challenge.

"I had a chat with some connections over in India and managed to land the Mumbai City manager's job and it's something I'm really looking forward to," Reid told Sky Sports News.

"It's a new culture and a new experience in a sports-mad nation. Obviously cricket - my second love - is the major sport but some of the attendances at the soccer games are massive.

"I'm just delighted that I can go out there and help youngsters develop and try and make Mumbai City successful."

Mumbai City's first game sees them travel to Atletico de Kolkata on October 12.
