Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future as Manchester United boss is reportedly still in doubt.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly be sacked as Manchester United boss at the end of the season should the Norwegian be unable to lead the club to a European finish in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are currently ninth in the division ahead of Monday night's key clash with Chelsea.

According to the Daily Star, Solskjaer wanted four new players during the January transfer window but only Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo arrived at Old Trafford.

The report claims that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward's failure to deliver all four targets has put the manager's long-term future in doubt.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino continues to be linked with the 20-time English champions, although it has been reported that former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is in pole position to replace Solskjaer ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

United, who will resume their Europa League campaign against Club Brugge on Thursday, have only won half of their 68 matches under the leadership of their former striker, suffering 19 defeats in the process.
