Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly join Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for Brighton & Hove Albion's Alexis Mac Allister.

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly the latest teams to show an interest in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

The Argentinian World Cup winner continues to go from strength to strength for club and country and is believed to have attracted the attention of several Champions League-calibre clubs.

Liverpool and Manchester City are among the clubs to have been linked with Mac Allister, whose father has admitted that he could be on the move during the summer transfer window.

"For now he is in Brighton. It seems to me a very good thing that he has returned from the World Cup and has not despaired of leaving," Carlos Mac Allister told TyCSports.

"He is enjoying success calmly and in peace in a team that loves him very much. The reception he received has been for the better. He is very happy at the club.

"We all know that in July there will be chances to leave. But prior to the World Cup, Alexis renewed his contract so that the club also has the opportunity to make a big sale, so that many can reach out to Brighton. That's the idea."

According to Football Insider, Arsenal and Man United have also expressed an interest in signing Mac Allister, but Brighton will demand a fee of £70m to sanction a summer sale.

The 24-year-old only extended his contract with Brighton back in October, and he is tied down to the Seagulls until 2025 with the option of an additional 12 months.

The report adds that Mac Allister feels ready to take the next leap in his career, four years after making the move to Brighton from Argentinos Jrs in January 2019.

The midfielder has 16 goals and seven assists to show from 95 games in a Seagulls jersey, including eight goals and one assist from 23 games in the 2022-23 campaign.

A stalwart of Argentina's World Cup 2022-winning squad, Mac Allister scored one goal and set up one more in six starts in Qatar, providing the assist for Angel Di Maria's strike in the final against France.

Even with top clubs circling, Mac Allister told BBC Radio Sussex back in January that he was in no rush to make a move elsewhere, saying: "I feel really good with this club and my teammates, and everyone who works here.

"I try not to read too much. I always say I am really happy here and I don't have any rush to leave. I am focused on the next game with this club."

Mac Allister is not the only Brighton midfielder on the radar of the Premier League's Big Six, with Moises Caicedo also attracting the attention of Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Ecuador starlet recently signed a new long-term deal at the Amex Stadium until 2027 - only a few weeks on from voicing his desire to leave - but interested clubs are not thought to be put off by his fresh terms.
