Martin Skrtel "90% sure" to be leaving Liverpool this summer

Martin Skrtel's agent claims that the Liverpool centre-back is "90%" certain to be leaving the club this summer.

The agent of Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has said that the player is "90%" certain to be leaving the club this summer.

Skrtel began the season as the first-choice centre-back at Anfield, but injuries saw him lose his place in the side and he fell behind Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure in the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.

The 31-year-old made just four Premier League starts after Christmas, all in matches when Klopp fielded a second-string side, resulting in reports that he would look elsewhere for first-team football.

Speculation has linked him with a move to Turkish club Besiktas and, while his agent Karol Csonto has rubbished those rumours, he did confirm that his client is likely to leave Merseyside.

"It's complete nonsense, he has not signed any contract (with Besiktas). I've even talked with Martin about another club," Csonto told TV Markiz in Slovakia.

"Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin, but we're haven't reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else.

"But I can say that it is 90% sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed."

Skrtel has made 319 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions since arriving at the club in 2008.
