Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that Andy Carroll's future will be resolved quickly.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the club are working to resolve Andy Carroll's future as quickly as possible.

Reports emerged this week claiming that a bid in the region of £15m has been agreed between the Reds and West Ham United for the sale of Carroll, who spent a season-long loan at the Boleyn Ground.

While a fee is thought to have been reached, it has been suggested that Carroll is delaying his transfer from Liverpool due to wage concerns.

"It's a difficult one," the Liverpool Daily Post quotes Rodgers as saying. "We have had a good chat, and it's just something we need to assess between now and the end of window.

"In terms of the money, that's something out of my control. But he's a talent so we will assess the whole situation. The objective at the beginning of the season was for him to go out and play.

"He's gone away to think of what we spoke about and we will talk again through the weeks. It's one of those situations where it will probably be resolved a lot quicker than that for both parties."

Liverpool are expected to make a £20m loss on the striker that they bought for £35m from Newcastle United.
