Liverpool reportedly have no plans to cash in on playmaker Diogo Jota during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool reportedly intend to retain the services of Diogo Jota ahead of 2023-24.

Having enjoyed an impressive stint with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool were happy to pay £41m to sign the forward in September 2020.

During that time, the Portugal international has contributed 34 goals and 15 assists from 101 appearances in all competitions.

However, Jota has endured a frustrating period at Anfield during the current campaign, failing to score a single goal in the Premier League or Champions League.

Although six assists have still been contributed during his 712 minutes of action, injury has prevented him from building any momentum in the final third.

The 26-year-old was provided with an opportunity from the start against Real Madrid in midweek, only to be withdrawn before the hour mark after failing to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With Jurgen Klopp intending to strengthen in defence and midfield in the summer, it has been suggested that the Merseyside giants may be open to cashing in on Jota.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and, when fit, Luis Diaz are all likely to be ahead of Jota in the pecking order.

Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, Liverpool will reject any offers for Jota if they arrive in the next transfer window.

The report claims that Klopp is ready to place full faith in Jota to play an important role in Liverpool's rebuild next season.

Jota also has over four years remaining on his contract, something which may dictate that any interested party may not be willing to match Liverpool's own valuation.

Providing that he stays fit, Jota should be given regular opportunities next season, helped by the departure of Roberto Firmino on a free transfer.

Jota's next chance to break his duck for this campaign will come on April 1 when Liverpool make the trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.
