Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly seeking a 'comprehensive file' on Egypt's training plans for the 2020 Olympics to decide if Mohamed Salah can join.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to seek a 'comprehensive file' on Egypt's training plans for the 2020 Olympics to decide whether or not Mohamed Salah can join his country later this year.

Egypt Under-23 coach Shawky Gharib has expressed his desire to see Salah represent his country at the upcoming event, but Liverpool's star man is yet to make a decision about taking him up on his offer this summer.

However, according to Ahram Online, Klopp is desperate to seek reports about the tournament before allowing the 27-year-old to take part in the competition.

If Salah were to join his country in the Olympics, the forward would miss the final stages of Liverpool's pre-season preparations as well as potentially missing out on the Community Shield and the first week of the 2020-2021 campaign.

The tournament is set to take place in six cities around Japan in the months of July and August, but recent concerns surrounding the coronavirus means the future of the event remain uncertain.
