Sadio Mane says that Liverpool "did a great job" in brushing aside West Ham United and now hopes to continue scoring goals on a consistent basis this term.

Sadio Mane has declared himself "very pleased" with his workload in Liverpool's emphatic 4-0 win against West Ham United at Anfield.

Liverpool controlled the match and ended with four goals to their name, two of which were scored by energetic Senegalese forward Mane.

The 26-year-old, who found the net a combined 20 times in the Premier League and Champions League last term, says that the Reds' feared attack will push on from Sunday's comfortable victory and continue to rack up the goals.

"We did a great job and created many chances. We played well from the beginning to the end," he told BBC Sport. "We scored four and I scored twice, so I'm very happy.

"Before the goal it's always important to start the game well which is what we always try to do. Scoring made it more relaxed for us and we try to work hard and push as a team onto the fourth.

"We try to do our best to score goals for the team because without those we can't do anything. It's the teamwork, we do things together. We will try to score more goals. We have a strong team. That will help us to push hard and fight to do our best."

Mane is the first Liverpool player to score in three consecutive opening top-flight fixtures since John Barnes between 1989 and 1991.
