Mohamed Salah confirms that he wants to spend the rest of his playing days at Liverpool, with his contract currently due to expire in 2023.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has confirmed his desire to retire at Anfield.

The Egypt international's future remains the topic of much debate, with his existing deal due to expire in 2023 amid reported interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Salah has enjoyed a phenomenal start to the 2021-22 season under Jurgen Klopp, though, and the 29-year-old has outlined his intentions to spend the rest of his playing career on Merseyside.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Salah said: "It does not depend with me. If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football [career], but I can't say much, it's not in my hands.

"It depends on what the club wants, not what depends with me. At the moment, I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool, that would make me sad.

"It's hard, I don't want to talk about it. It would make me really sad, at the moment, I don't see myself against Liverpool but let's see what happens in the future."

Salah already has 14 goals and four assists to his name from 11 appearances in all competitions this term and will aim to score for the 10th game running against Manchester United on Sunday.
