Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: 'Daniel Sturridge's future is clear'

Jurgen Klopp suggests that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is fully committed to the club following rumours of a possible summer exit.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Daniel Sturridge's future is 'clear' after the striker said that he is "happy" at Anfield.

Today, the England international dismissed rumours that he could leave the Merseyside outfit at the end of the season.

The striker made just his first Premier league start since October in the Reds' 6-0 win over Aston Villa on February 14.

Injuries have plagues Sturridge in recent seasons, having made just 18 starts in 100 games for Liverpool since the summer of 2014.

When asked about Sturridge in Wednesday's press conference, Klopp told reporters: "[Sturridge] is a really good footballer and now he is able to play which is what we want to see all the time.

"A few things are clearer now - his future. You can stop thinking about this."

Liverpool will face Augsburg in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie before taking on Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
