Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani reveals Zlatan Ibrahimovic contact

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani reveals that he held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the striker's return to AC Milan.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed that he held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the striker's return to AC Milan.

The Championship outfit had been left short on attacking options following Eddie Nketiah's early return to Arsenal from his loan deal, and Radrizzani has claimed that he tried to persuade the former Manchester United attacker to return to English football.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Radrizzani also revealed that Paris Saint-Germain's Edison Cavani was also mentioned as a potential signing.

"I spoke with Zlatan Ibrahimovic more concretely. He could have given us that decisive push but he decided to go to AC Milan. He has been very honest and transparent with me," the Leeds owner said.

"We need to be rational and coherent with the strategy of both coach and team. I did not even speak with Marcelo Bielsa about Cavani and Ibrahimovic because we never got to the stage that we could sit down and talk about them."

Ibrahimovic scored three goals in eight Serie A matches for Milan prior to the coronavirus postponement.
