Kevin McHattie leaves Hearts by mutual consent

Hearts defender Kevin McHattie, 22, leaves Tynecastle by mutual consent after losing his first-team place at the club.

Hearts defender Kevin McHattie has departed Tynecastle by mutual consent.

The 22-year-old made his debut in 2011 but has found himself behind Juwon Oshaniwa this season following the Nigeria international's arrival.

McHattie told Hearts News: "I've loved every minute here, it's been fantastic. I'll leave here with some great memories, not least winning the title last year. I'll miss this place."

The Scotland youth international, who made his Hearts debut aged 17, was under contract at the Edinburgh club until 2016.
