Liverpool's Dejan Lovren named in Croatia's final World Cup squad

Liverpool's Dejan Lovren is named alongside several stars of European football in Croatia's final squad for the World Cup.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been named in a strong Croatia squad for the World Cup finals.

The centre-back joins stars of European football including Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic on the 23-man roster.

Besiktas defender Matej Mitrovic has been dropped from the squad, having been named in the provisional lineup.

Croatia begin their World Cup campaign against Nigeria on June 16, and will also face Argentina and Iceland in Group D.

The Croats were in action at Liverpool's Anfield stadium at the weekend, losing 2-0 to Brazil in a World Cup warm-up game.

Goalkeepers: Danijel Subasic, Lovre Kalinic, Dominik Livakovic

Defenders: Vedran Corluka, Domagoj Vida, Ivan Strinic, Dejan Lovren, Sime Vrsaljko, Josip Pivaric, Tin Jedvaj, Duje Caleta-Car

Midfielders: Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Mateo Kovacic, Milan Badelj, Marcelo Brozovic, Filip Bradaric

Forwards: Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Perisic, Nikola Kalinic, Andrej Kramaric, Marko Pjaca, Ante Rebic
