Steven Pressley: 'Coventry City players can be proud despite Notts County loss'

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley hails the effort of his side following their narrow defeat to Notts County in League One.

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has praised the effort of his team despite their narrow defeat to Notts County in League One.

The Sky Blues were beaten 1-0 at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday as Garry Thompson's second-half goal separated the sides.

While admitting that he was disappointed with the result, Pressley believes that his players can be proud of their performance against the Magpies.

"I was disappointed because these are games that we have to win. There is no doubt about that," the Scot told Eurosport. "It was fiercely contested. Our attitude was terrific and our work ethic was terrific.

"There was a real will to win but one mistake cost us the game, especially when we were the dominant team in the second half. These are games we can't afford to lose, there is no doubt about it."

Coventry are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Colchester United in the league.
