Sevilla defender Jules Kounde is reportedly confident of completing a transfer to Chelsea before the end of the summer window.

Sevilla defender Jules Kounde reportedly remains confident about eventually completing a transfer to Chelsea.

The Blues were allegedly close to signing the France international earlier this summer until Kurt Zouma was removed from any part-exchange proposal.

Chelsea, who are willing to spend £97.5m on Romelu Lukaku, will likely have to submit a straight-cash offer to get a deal for Kounde over the line.

However, according to ABC Sevilla, the 22-year-old is still optimistic about making the switch to Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks.

The report says that his La Liga club are reportedly prepared to wait 12 months before cashing in on Kounde's services.

Should that prove to be the case, Chelsea will realistically have to offer in excess of £50m to tempt Sevilla into a sale before the end of the current transfer window.
