Jermaine Jenas slams "scared" Tottenham Hotspur players after Chelsea defeat

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas accuses Jose Mourinho's side of being "scared" in their derby defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has delivered a scathing assessment of the Lilywhites' performance in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Jose Mourinho witnessed his team succumb to a Jorginho penalty as Thomas Tuchel earned the London bragging rights, with that result extending Tottenham's losing run in the Premier League to three matches.

Spurs have struggled for inspiration and creativity in the absence of star striker Harry Kane, and Jenas has accused Mourinho's men of being "scared" after their derby defeat.

Speaking to BT Sport, Jenas said: "There's no plan. That's the problem. I'm looking at players who are scared, they don't want to get on the ball. That's the biggest crime you can make as a footballer.

"Another big problem of theirs is their body language, it's shocking. Serge Aurier, standing around, doing nothing. Vinicius, do you want to help out and run into channels or come in? No, a lot of standing and watching. The players are not interested."

Thursday's defeat leaves eighth-placed Tottenham seven points adrift of the Champions League places before Sunday's visit of relegation-threatened West Bromwich Albion.
