Zdenek Zeman resigns as Cagliari Calcio coach

Serie A strugglers Cagliari Calcio announce that Zdenek Zeman has resigned as the club's manager.

Cagliari Calcio have confirmed that Zdenek Zeman has resigned as the club's manager.

The 67-year-old returned to the Stadio Sant'Elia last month after being sacked back in December.

However, his second spell at the club saw him guide the team to just one point from five games.

Cagliari currently sit nine points adrift of safety in the Serie A table following four consecutive defeats.

"Cagliari Calcio announces that Zdenek Zeman has today resigned from his post as head coach of the first team," read an official statement. "To coach Zeman and his staff we offer thanks for the work they've done, and best wishes for the rest of his career."

I Rossoblu continue their fight for survival on Sunday when they make the trip to Fiorentina.
