Bolton Wanderers striker Max Clayton ruled out for six months

Bolton Wanderers announce that Max Clayton has been ruled out for six months after undergoing knee surgery.

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Max Clayton will be out of action for six months after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The 20-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament after falling awkwardly during Bolton's goalless draw with Ipswich Town last weekend.

Clayton tweeted: "Devastating news to be out for the rest of the season but will come back stronger than ever ready for the challenge of next season."

Clayton, who has made nine appearances this season, joined the club from Crewe in September.
