Germany to block Joachim Low taking over at Bayern Munich

Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff reveals that Bayern Munich have shown an interest in national team boss Joachim Low, but he is under contract until 2020.

Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has warned Bayern Munich that they have no chance of prising away boss Joachim Low while he remains under contract.

The 57-year-old has been in charge of Die Mannschaft since 2006 and still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his existing deal, taking him to the next European Championship finals.

Low has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern next season, with Jupp Heynckes stepping in on a temporary basis until the summer for a fourth spell.

Talking to Sport1, however, Bierhoff claimed that he will block any approach made by the Bundesliga giants for the former Stuttgart and Fenerbahce manager.

"Everything is possible in football. You should never rule it out," he said. "He has the quality to manage any club in the world and I believe there is interest [from Bayern]. However, on the one hand, Jogi has a contract until 2020. On the other hand, if the Bavarians come looking, I will put a stop to it."

Luis Enrique, Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann have all been linked with the Bayern hotseat.
