Barcelona president Joan Laporta says that the club will wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to sign on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Adama Traore.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said that the club will wait until the end of the season before making a decision on the future of Adama Traore.

The Spain international returned to Camp Nou in January, arriving on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.

Barcelona have the option to make the deal permanent this summer for a fee in the region of £25m, and Laporta has said that the club would "love" to keep hold of him.

However, the Catalan club's president has insisted that the 26-year-old will only arrive on a permanent deal if the club have stable finances by the end of the season.

"We'd love Adama Traore to stay here, it's possible - but we're in a difficult financial situation. We'll see at the end of the season," Laporta told reporters.

Traore has been a regular for Xavi's side since his return, making seven appearances in all competitions, contributing four assists in the process.

Tottenham Hotspur were believed to be on the verge of signing the Spaniard in January before Barcelona made a move to bring him back to the club that he previously left in 2015.
