How Barcelona could line up against Villarreal

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Tuesday night's La Liga clash with Villarreal.

Barcelona will be looking to continue their charge towards the La Liga title when they face Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Tuesday night.

The Spanish champions made it six straight league wins by beating Espanyol at the weekend and remain 10 points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.

Barca are chasing another domestic double this season, with a spot in the Copa del Rey already secured. Meanwhile, they will face Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

A record of 21 wins, six draws and two defeats from 29 league matches is very strong, while Ernesto Valverde's side are comfortably the highest scorers in the division with 75.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Barca could line up on Tuesday night.

POSS BAR XI vs. VIL

Out: Rafinha (knee), Ousmane Dembele (hamstring), Jasper Cillessen (hip)

Barca have no fresh injury concerns from the team that started against Espanyol at the weekend.

Rafinha remains a long-term absentee with a knee injury, however, while Ousmane Dembele and Jasper Cillessen will miss out with hamstring and hip injuries respectively.

There is every chance that Valverde could decide to rest Lionel Messi on Tuesday night, with the attacker picking up a slight knock on international duty last month.

If Messi is indeed rested then Malcom would more than likely come in for a start, while Sergi Roberto, Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal could all feature in the XI against the Yellow Submarine.
