Aly Cissokho close to Porto loan move?

Aston Villa full-back Aly Cissokho will reportedly move to Porto on a season-long loan later this week.

Aston Villa full-back Aly Cissokho has reportedly decided to join former club Porto on a season-long loan.

Despite only joining Villa for £3.5m last season, Cissokho has slipped down the pecking order since Tim Sherwood's arrival earlier this year and the defender has been repeatedly linked with a move.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Sherwood does not see the Frenchman as part of his plans, and a loan move to Porto will be confirmed later this month.

The report suggests that the loan could result in a permanent deal, but it remains unclear whether there is a deal in place for the transfer to be completed next summer.

Cissokho made 25 appearances for Villa last season.
