Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert reveals that he has been impressed with the recent form of striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that Gabriel Agbonlahor is currently producing the best form of his career.

Agbonlahor has scored three goals in his last four appearances to help Villa to nine points, and Lambert has been quick to praise the contribution of the 26-year-old.

The 43-year-old told reporters: "I think he's on the top of his game right now. His goalscoring is excellent at the minute.

"I think he enjoys the role he's playing and it shows in the way he's playing.

"At the minute, his work-rate is extremely high and he's creating things and scoring goals, and that's a great thing."

The Birmingham-born forward has made 280 appearances for the club since he made his debut in 2005.
