A report claims that Arsenal are looking to bring in Argentina international Walter Kannemann from Gremio in a £10.5m deal.

Arsenal have made a formal offer of £10.5m for Gremio defender Walter Kannemann, according to a report.

The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the 28-year-old for a number of months via their worldwide scouting network.

A new centre-back is high on Unai Emery's list of priorities and Calciomercato suggests that the Spaniard has already moved to strengthen his backline.

Arsenal are rumoured to be going head-to-head with Sampdoria for the five-cap Argentina international's signature.

The report states that the £10.5m figure could rise if the ex-San Lorenzo ace, considered one of the best players in his position in South America, hits certain performance targets.
