Arsenal are reportedly planning to offer Gabriel Magalhaes a new contract at the Emirates, amid interest for the defender from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to enter talks with Gabriel Magalhaes over a new contract at the Emirates.

The Brazilian is currently on international duty with the Selecao, who are looking to book their spot in next year's World Cup in North America.

Gabriel is the latest star who Arsenal are looking to tie down in the long term, with the North Londoners in communication with wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri over a fresh five-year deal.

The 27-year-old has been a stalwart at the back for Mikel Arteta's side this term alongside Frenchman William Saliba, who is known to be admired by Real Madrid.

Conceding just 24 goals across 29 Premier League matches this term, Arsenal kept another clean sheet prior to the international pause, edging past London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates.

Arsenal planning to offer Gabriel a new contract?

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are set to ramp up their efforts to secure the long-term future of commanding centre-back Gabriel in North London.

The report states that the Gunners are planning to offer the 14-time international a new deal in the English capital, reflecting his importance to Arteta's side.

Coming mightily close to ending their 20-year wait for the Premier League title over recent years, Arsenal are supposedly keen to retain the core of their squad this summer.

One of the key cogs in Arteta's system, Gabriel is said to be attracting interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, namely Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

As a result, it is understood that the Gunners are keen to press on with a new contract for the Brazilian, whose current terms expire in 2027.

Foundations for future success

While there are plenty of opinions flying about regarding the shortcomings of Arsenal's attacking ranks, it is undeniable that the Gunners possess a formidable centre-back pairing.

Gabriel and Saliba are an integral part of the Premier League's meanest defence, with the duo a match for the vast majority of forward lines in European football.

Arguably the ultimate test of their trophy-winning credentials, Arsenal will face current holders Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next month.

Should Gabriel be able to limit the impact of Kylian Mbappe and company over two legs, expect the 27-year-old's valuation to rise exponentially ahead of the summer trading point.
