Arsenal 'slash Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang asking price to £31m'

Arsenalreportedly slash Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's asking price to £31m amid speculation regarding the striker's future.

Arsenal have reportedly slashed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's asking price to £31m amid speculation regarding the striker's future.

Aubameyang has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates recently and will see his current deal with Mikel Arteta's side expire next summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been credited with an interest in the Gabon international, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have now reduced their asking price for their captain.

The report claims that the Gunners were holding out for an offer of €50m (£44.1m) for Aubameyang but will now accept an offer in the region of €35m (£31m).

Should Arsenal decide against selling Aubameyang in this summer's transfer window, the Gabon international could leave for free in 2021 if he does not pen fresh terms.

The 30-year-old has registered 17 Premier League goals this season and has chalked up a total of 61 in 97 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
